2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use Viva:

• •Account information — your name and email address when you register
• •Study materials — documents, images, and text you upload to generate questions
• •Study activity — your answers, scores, session results, and progress over time
• •Voice recordings — audio you record during oral study mode, sent to our servers for transcription and then discarded
• •Device information — platform (iOS/Android), app version, and basic usage analytics

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• •Provide and personalise the Viva study experience
• •Generate AI-powered questions from your uploaded materials
• •Transcribe your spoken answers and evaluate them using AI
• •Track your progress and show you performance statistics
• •Send you important service notifications
• •Improve our AI models and app features (using anonymised, aggregated data only)

4. AI Processing

Viva uses third-party AI services to power its features:

• •Google Gemini — processes your uploaded documents to generate study questions and evaluate answers. Documents are sent to Google's API and are subject to Google's data processing terms.
• •Faster Whisper (self-hosted) — transcribes your voice recordings. Audio is processed on our own servers and is not shared with third parties.
• •Piper TTS (self-hosted) — converts question text to speech. No personal data is involved.

We do not use your personal study content to train AI models without your explicit consent.

5. Data Storage

Your data is stored as follows:

• •Account data and study results are stored in Appwrite, hosted on our private server in the EU (Hetzner, Germany)
• •Uploaded files (PDFs, images, text) are stored in MinIO object storage on the same private server
• •Voice recordings are processed in memory and are never stored permanently

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• •Google (Gemini API) — for AI question generation and answer evaluation
• •Resend — for sending transactional emails (account verification, password reset)

All third-party providers are bound by their own privacy policies and applicable data protection law.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• •Access the personal data we hold about you
• •Correct inaccurate data
• •Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• •Export your data

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at tstitagency@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. You can also delete your account directly from the app under Profile → Privacy & data, or via our account deletion page.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently delete all your sessions, questions, study results, and uploaded files within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

Viva is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at tstitagency@gmail.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification.
